Welcome to California Telugu Samithi

California Telugu Samithi (CTS) was formed in July 2004, to promote and preserve the Telugu language, culture, and heritage and pass it on to our future generations in the State of California.

Here is what inspired us to get motivated on CTS.

Quench your thirst in the ocean of Telugu language
It’s amazing how many great literary giants have worshipped Telugu Talli by enriching the Telugu language. Starting from ‘Adikavi’ Nannayya, mahAkavi Sree Nadhudu, Molla, Vemana, Viswanadha Satyanarayana to modern poets like Tripuraneni and Sri Sri, and the list goes on with names of these wonderful poets and pundits.

Hair raising Valor of Telugu Veera kumarulu
Starting from GoutamE putra sAtakarni, Rudrama Devi, Krishna Devarayalu, Alluri Seetharama Raju, to Tanguturi Prakasham Panthulu, one can keep on going in remembering those who showed impeccable courage, patriotism, and leadership to protect, preserve and enrich our Telugu land and culture.

Artistic ability of Telugus that has no boundaries
To experience the rich Andhra culture through sculptures, paintings, music, and dance one need to visit AmarAvati, Kondapalli, Nirmal, Kaalahasthi or listen to Annamayya, Tyagayya or watch Kuchipudi.

Tireless Telugus made difference
There are so many Telugu people who rose to Himalayan heights and made tremendous contributions in many fields like science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, construction, education, and the list goes on. They made huge contributions in every walk of this human quest for betterment in life.

Telugus abroad refuse to see their language extinct
Telugu speaking people mainly hail from the State of Andhra Pradesh in India. Often called Andhrites, are courageous, smart, and explorative natured and fun-loving people. It is extremely difficult to find a corner in this world where you will not find an Andhrite.

Our children deserve to know their heritage

We can keep singing these praises, but life goes on. We have a moral responsibility to teach our kids about their heritage. All this amazing wealth of language, culture, and history is too valuable to ignore and must be passed on to our next generations.

If you are interested in one of the following then the CTS is the place for you
